Global English Editing was founded in 2014 by Graeme Brown and Brendan Brown as a professional editing and proofreading company. Built as a sister site to The Expert Editor, Australia’s leading editing service, Global English Editing has grown into a truly international operation serving students, academics, authors, and businesses worldwide.
Our editors are subject matter specialists. We use the flexibility of being exclusively online to match every project with the right editor, no matter where they are in the world. The result is an unrivaled combination of quality and affordability.
We work across three main service areas:
Our Blog
Years of editing manuscripts across psychology, behavioral science, and personal development gave us a perspective on these topics that went beyond grammar and structure. We kept noticing that the hardest part of writing wasn’t technical — it was psychological. Perfectionism, procrastination, the fear of being misunderstood. The gap between what someone means and what they manage to say.
That observation shaped what the blog became. It’s still rooted in our editing work, but it explores the broader territory where writing, communication, and human behavior overlap — how people express themselves, why communication breaks down, and what psychology reveals about the way we connect and make sense of the world.
The blog is led by Graeme and Brendan Brown, who founded Global English Editing, alongside Jeanette Brown, Lachlan Brown, and Justin Brown. They’re supported by a team of contributors from around the world with backgrounds in editing, psychology, and communication.
The blog is organized around five areas that reflect the full arc of how people think, write, and communicate:
- Writing & Editing — the craft of turning ideas into clear, precise language
- Creative Process — the psychological side of creative work, from writer’s block to finishing what you started
- Communication — how people express themselves, navigate conflict, and connect through conversation
- Language & Intelligence — the relationship between the words we choose and the way others perceive us
- Reading & Books — the reading life that underpins good writing and clear thinking
Our Editorial Approach
We take accuracy seriously. Our background is in editing, and that shapes how we approach everything we publish. Years of working with academic manuscripts taught us what rigorous sourcing and honest representation of evidence actually look like. We bring that same standard to the blog.
Articles go through research, writing, and editorial review before they go live. Where we reference studies, statistics, or expert findings, we link to the original sources so readers can verify claims for themselves.
We also believe in fixing mistakes, not hiding them. If an article contains an error, we correct it. If a source turns out to be unreliable, we update or remove the reference. This is an ongoing process, not a one-time check.
Our goal is simple: publish articles that are genuinely useful to the people reading them. No filler, no clickbait, no recycled advice. Just clear, well-sourced writing on the topics we cover — writing, communication, and the human side of how people express themselves.
