Sure, an AI chatbot can say, “I’m really sorry to hear that you’re having trouble”, but can it truly understand the frustration of a person who’s been on hold for 30 minutes, only to explain their problem all over again? Highly doubtful.

It’s true, AI can automate responses. But when customers run into serious problems, they want less of hitting preprogrammed buttons and more of genuine understanding — a real person who can connect with them on a human level.

So, if you’re in a profession that requires human interaction and empathy, take heart! AI might be encroaching upon many sectors, but it is still miles away from replicating authentic human empathy.
